"A Performance" was conceived by an invitation from artist-curator Enoch Cheng, as part of the group exhibition “Sparkle, When will I see you again".
The choreography examines the creation of myth in the context of contemporary, globalised society. This work unfolds through a series of daily performances within an exhibition setting, where performers gradually emerge like ephemeral figures, gathering fragments of memory, presence, and imagination. Through these successive encounters, a collective myth begins to take shape, reconstructing an absent history that remains hauntingly present in the audience’s mind.
The piece probes the processes through which memory is constructed and myth is formed in the act of recollection. It also reflects on how the past is reinterpreted through the lens of fluid, migratory identities in an ever-shifting world.
